How Students Access an Assessment

⚠️ Before students can start, make sure the assessment is assigned. Need help assigning? Learn more →

After you assign an assessment to a roster, students can access it in two ways:

Option 1: Via their InnerOrbit Student Dashboard

Students can sign in using your district’s preferred login/rostering setup:

Once students log in, they’ll be taken to their InnerOrbit Student Dashboard.

Option 2: Via a Shared Assignment Link

Each assessment has a shareable assignment link. Students log in and go straight to the assessment. Here’s how to find it:

  1. Locate the Assessment

    • Navigate to your "Library" tab.

    • Click on the assessment you'd like to assign.

  2. Copy the Assessment Link

    • In the pink Assign window, check the appropriate roster(s).

    • Click the pink assignment link to copy it.

      • ⚠️ Note: You must check the desired roster(s) before sending the link to students.

  3. Share the Link with Students

    • Post the link in Google Classroom, your LMS, or send it via email.

Student Dashboard Layout

The Student Dashboard includes everything students need to get started with InnerOrbit assessments. When students land on their dashboard, they’ll see:

Left Panel:

Upcoming Assessments

  • If an assessment is unlocked, it’s ready to take right away. Students can click "Start Now" to begin.

  • If an assessment is incomplete, it means the student already started it but hasn’t finished yet. Students can click "Continue Where You Left Off " to pick up where they stopped.

  • If an assessment is locked, it may still be assigned to the student, but the teacher has locked access. Students won’t be able to open it until the teacher unlocks it.

Student Scores Tab

When students submit an assessment, they can confirm submission or view their score (if available) by navigating to the "Scores" tab.

  • If the teacher chooses to show scores after submission, students will see their assessment score.

  • If the teacher chooses not to show scores, students will still see that the assessment was completed.

Right Panel:

Current Classes

Students will see all classes they’re currently enrolled in. If a student reports that your class isn’t listed, review your rosters by navigating to the "Rosters" tab.
