Adding or Deleting Questions from an Existing Assessment

InnerOrbit's assessment builder allows you to add or delete questions from any assessment you've created—giving you flexibility to adjust based on your instructional goals.

⚠️ Important Notes on Editing Assessments with Student Data

  • If you modify an assessment after students have already taken it, their existing data will not reflect the updates (e.g., added or removed questions).

  • You may see gray boxes in the Assignment Report, indicating that the question was modified after the assessment was taken.

  • To preserve your original assessment data, we recommend making a copy of the assessment before making edits.

➕ How to Add Questions to an Existing Assessment

  1. Go to Your Library Tab

    • Navigate to the "Library" tab and click on the assessment you want to edit.

    • 🔒 Important Note: You can only edit assessments you’ve created.

  2. Click “Edit Quiz”

    • Click the green "Edit Quiz" button in the bottom left corner.

    • This will move your assessment to the right and open the search panel on the left.

  3. Search for Phenomenon

    • There are two main ways to search:

      • Use the search bar to find a phenomenon by standard, keyword, or title

      • Use the grade band browse tiles to explore

  4. Select Phenomenon

    • Click on the phenomenon tile you want to pull questions from.

  5. Add Questions

  6. View Your Assessment

    • Click “View Your Assessment” in the top right corner.

  7. Add More or Save

    1. Continue browsing and adding questions if needed.

    2. When done, click the green “Save” button.

  8. 🎉 You’re done!

    1. Decide how to use this assessment in your classroom:

      • Assign to students

      • Print for in-class use (great for partner or table work)

      • Project for whole-class discussion


🗑️ How to Delete Questions from an Existing Assessment

⚠️ Important Note: You can only edit assessments you’ve created.

  1. Go to Your Library Tab

    • Navigate to the "Library" tab and click on the assessment you want to edit.

  2. Click “Edit Quiz”

    • Click the green “Edit Quiz” button in the bottom left corner.
      Your assessment will move to the right, and the search panel will open on the left.

  3. Click “Remove Question”

    • Click the red “Remove Question” button for any question you wish to delete.

  4. Click “Save”

    • Don’t forget to hit the green “Save” button once you're done editing.
