InnerOrbit provides built-in features and customizable settings that help teachers and schools promote academic integrity while ensuring accurate and meaningful assessment data.

What This Help Article Covers:

✅ Built-in Features That Support Academic Integrity

InnerOrbit has several embedded features designed to promote fair and honest assessments while giving teachers clear insights into student learning.

  • 🔄 Shuffled Answer Choices

    • Multiple-choice answers are automatically shuffled for each student to prevent predictable patterns.

  • 📝 Free Response Questions

    • Open-ended questions allow teachers to assess deep understanding and spot similarities in student responses.

  • 📊 Detailed Gradebook Insights

    • Navigate to “Reports” → “Gradebook” to view individual student responses and identify any patterns or inconsistencies that may indicate academic integrity concerns.

⚙️ Optional Settings for Your Assessments

The Assessment Builder offers customizable tools to enhance assessment security. Consider adjusting these settings when assigning an assessment.

📌 How to Access These Settings:

  • Go to the "Library" tab and select the assessment you’re administering.

  • You can also adjust these settings while building your assessment.

When setting up an assessment, you can decide whether students will see their scores immediately or only their completion status.

  • Don’t Show Scores to Students: Prevents students from viewing their scores and specific feedback immediately after taking an assessment.

  • Show Answers and Scores to Students: Students will see their overall grade and which questions they got right or wrong (without the correct answer being revealed).

📅 Set a Due Date

  • Set an optional due date when assigning an assessment to encourage timely completion.

  • ⚠️ Important Note:

    • Students can still access and complete the assessment after the due date, and submissions will not be marked late.

    • However, the submission date and time will be visible in the Assignment Report for teacher reference.

🔒 Lock/Unlock Assessments

  • Use the lock feature to control when students can access an assessment.

  • Helpful for:

    • Pre-assigning an assessment but keeping it locked until test time.

    • Restricting access for specific students as needed.

  • Click the green lock icon next to the assigned class.

  • Adjust settings in the pop-up window to control access.

🔒 Lockdown Browser Compatibility and Best Practices

While InnerOrbit does not have a built-in lockdown browser, it is compatible with third-party lockdown browser providers, such as GoGuardian. Integrating a lockdown browser can help:

  • Prevent students from navigating away from the assessment page.

  • Restrict access to other browser tabs, search engines, and external resources during the assessment.
